The coloring in the table cloth I hemmed had odd shades and I literally searched my stash to find dishes to match, |
I used the brown napkins to show the dishes better. Light tan napkins under a clear brown plate. amber goblets. The silverware is a lt. tan. I was surpised that I had enough to do a tablescape |
My bird which I love to use frequently were just the right colors. It sits in a candle holder. on a brown dish and filled with dry fillers. |
Found the autumn leaf dish and had forgot I had the brown plates. |
I added the candle holders with the gold and green. |
My sweet doll sitting under the shimmering tree to remind me to remember that life can be great if you only believe.http://betweennapsontheporch.net/ |

I had such memories while reading this post. When I grew up on the farm, we had no fans or air conditioning. I had 5 brothers and we all slept on the 3rd floor of my family home. We had 3 iron beds all in a row. We had a porch roof right out side or window. W used to drag our matresses out there and sleep when it was hot. I guess we are lucky no one fell off. My mother would have yelled had she known we were put them on the dirty roof. Life was so different back then. If kids of now days only knew what life was like. might make for a better world again. Love your post. Richard and Sissy Dog
Boy did that bring back memories. The kids now days have no idea about anything. All the care about is there cell phone,& ipads. What a shame. Yes sleeping on the floor was the only way to sleep in the summer if you wanted to have some air.
Have a great week.

I'm glad you were able to turn your dream into a pretty Autumn tablescape! Thank you for sharing your memories and coming to tea with me. Have a lovely day.
Blessings,

Beautiful fall tablescape! I do remember those hot times, upstairs with no insulation and very little breeze. It made us stronger and I think better people to have to work and endure some hard times.
However, those hard times have made us hand everything to our children and now we are seeing the results of spoiling them. Where do we go from here?
This table is gorgeous. What an inspiration! I'll pay more attention to my dreams.
