purple and gold

My son's birthday is tomorrow.  He was born on labor day and that is no pun labor on labor day.We have planned to eat out him and I but I set this table for him.  Maybe we will have dessert here. Purple and gold is royalty to me .  I just got the purple tablecloth.I didn't use place mats as with the runner  I didn't want to cover the tablecloth.so scrounged the house for gold and purple.  We had an early morning thunder and lightning storm and a  down pour.It didn't last long but my car window was down . Nothing like sitting on a wet seat.

I used my good dinnerware.and gold stemmed  glasses.  I don't drink so don't know what drink goes in it but my son likes a little wine. The chargers gold I got at thrift store of course. The glass on top will be used for a yummy dessert.

I made the lavender napkins and added a little glitter to the  napkin rings.

More gold. This a make over from a old pillar candle. The ball on top I got from family dollar and painted the raised part gold. It is sitting on a purple dish upside down. All the sparkly stuff is curly cue stems from dollar store.More gold on base of candle.  The runner has tassles  on each side.

I tried to get close up of the curly stems. Much prettier then picture

Mikasa dinnerware given to me.   Wasn't that a nice gift?

Close  up of stemware I spray painted. It has been staying good but wash by hand.

The letter was little gems and I added gold glitter to make it stand out.

More glitter on raised part of napkin ring.

Cute way to say I love you.

See the little nut cracker standing guard for a little bit of whimsy. Kids are back to school but there is still a lot going on in our resort town.  Love it.        http://betweennapsontheporch.net/

Regal indeed! I'll bet your son felt like a King among Kings at this table! I missed visiting last week, but I'm glad to get a chance to see this now! I love the combination of purple and gold, and you have added a lot of really great touches. The candle is REALLY creative, and I love the way you blinged up the napkin rings and dessert compote!!! Very cool!!! I'm totally impressed that you were able to so accurately and neatly spray paint the stem of the wine glass! Adding the nutcracker was a great way to add a touch of masculinity to the table for your son. Well done!!!!!!!
