I just got a lump in my throat the size of a basketball!!! Your husband's brick...right there...for all the world to see, and for you to cherish. Oh, Vernice...I am just choked up! So this is near your house, right? You're able to spend time here frequently? I'm sure the pageantry of the Color Guard and the laying of the wreath is something to behold! You must be SO proud of your husband and your father-in-law! You've set another really wonderful tribute table with lots of fun details like the little elephants and the squared placemats turned on the diagonal. I also love what you did with the napkin around the fork! I am going to have to borrow that idea, ma'am! The painting of the flag by the local artist is really neat, too. The fact that it's by a local makes it super special, I'm sure. Lovin' those Dollar Tree goblets, too! You just can't beat the impact they make for the price!!! I hope you have a peaceful and safe holiday weekend. Ramon and I are headed back to Pittsburg, KS again, so no barbeque for us! :-( Our birthdays are the following week, though, so we'll have a little party here at the house with family and neighbors. I hope the weather cooperates! Have a good one!!!!!!!!!!

Your post is just lovely and I got tears in my eyes when I seen the brick tribute to your husband. A heartfelt THANK YOU to your husband and your Father in Law for serving our country. I also want to say THANK YOU to you! I know the wives and children also give up so much by being in a military family.

I love your polka dots and I think your table is just perfect! I see some of those items from the Thrift Store you showed us in your last post :) Thank You for sharing and I do hope you have a wonderful weekend!

God Bless

Your table is very patriotic tribute to our men in the military, past and present. The brick of you husband and the other memorials are very touching.

It's been a while since I've visited, think I mentioned before that I did a school paper on the St, Lawrence Waterway way back in grad school. That was when all research was done with encyclopedias! lol.

Thanks for your sweet comment about my Americana kitchen.
