Peep peep peep 2013

It is 5:15 a.m.  and all is quiet. It has been a funny weather here. One day in the fifties the next in the thirties. We had a light snow yesterday. There is about 3 inchs of water in my back yard from melting snow.Is spring really almost here?
I was undecided how to do an Easter tablescape. Should it be atypical adult table or for the children ,so decided to combine the both. Bring out my Mikasa dinnerware , my best silverware, lace table cloth and satiny napkins. The dishes were given to me a year ago but no cups. Make do with mismatched cups. A little bit of whimsy in the Easter egg tree.Little wire baskets with name tags and glitter eggs.
Wire basket with pink flowers and pink  candle sticks .See the bunny tags on baskets each a different pastel color.
For the children just a little candy for later in the shape of carrot. I  am not against the bunny and egg tradition as long as they know the true meaning of Christmas and Easter. When I was a child we would go to Sunday school ,so we were taught early about why we celebrate Easter. It was the high light of our week to attend church. I was a Sunday school teacher when  I was older and sang in the choir.
Printed the tags from my computer.
My best Roger Brothers silverware. See the pink flowers on the plates.
My place mats have square pastels colors and the table cloth is ecru lace with a blue tablecloth underneath.
One end of the table oops the spoon is cockeyed.I can never get it right.
You can see the blue peeking through the lace tablecloth. The napkin ribbon has little easter eggs on it.
I was very happy to have  these pretty china dishes. My mom would have liked them.
Big china Easter egg from my thrift store. The tree has lights on it. The little bunnies wind up and walks. In the grass are glitter eggs.
Too early to plan the menu but will be a traditional meal. God bless you all and make memories with your family and friends.          I will be participating thursday with  betweennapsontheporch.net        http://betweennapsontheporch.net/

Vernice, I love how you intermix vintage and modern pieces into your tablescapes. This one is so cheerful with the pastel colors! I'm surprised your feline helper wasn't assisting with the placement of the bunnies and batting around some eggs. :) 5 days until Spring!!

Nice blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it from
somewhere? A theme like yours with a few simple tweeks would really
make my blog shine. Please let me know where you got your
design. Bless you

Hi there, Vernice!!!! I am late getting around this week. It has been busy here, plus I haven't felt all that well. I spent most of this morning in the bed.

Your china is beautiful! Just beautiful! I just love Mikasa products, and your pattern is so pretty. I really like how you played up the pink with the candles and flowers and ribbons on the napkins. That not only lends a nice Spring touch, but gives us girls a little something-something, too! :-) You printed those cute tags off on your computer?!??!! Wow! You Go, lady!!!! I wouldn't know the first thing to do to do that!!! I'm impressed!!!

I didn't know you used to sing in the choir! I think I knew about you teaching Sunday School, but not about singing. Wow! That's terrific!

I hope you have a nice, quiet weekend that has some fun sprinkled in! My Mom's birthday is tomorrow, so I will spend part of the day with her. I think we're going to go to a Fish Fry at her church. She likes doing stuff like that. HUGS!!!!

Hi, Vernice! I learned about you and your blog from Alycia and I'm so glad that I popped over to visit! (following you now, too!) Imagine my surprise when I saw my Mikasa wedding china in your lovely tablescape! I fell in love with the romantic charm of the roses on the rim of the plates when I first saw it and it's served me well for the last 24 years. I'm not a tablescaper myself, (I have a food blog) but I so enjoy seeing everyone else's beautiful creations. It's so nice to "meet" you. I hope you enjoy a truly Blessed and happy Easter with your family! ~Mary
