Going green thanksgiving

I am going green.  I am using dishes I bought as a young housewife over 45 years ago.  they were called Ye olden days.  Each dish has a different old  picture. We used them only on Thanksgiving and Christmas.  I have a set of eight but now only set for two. We always had ice water with our meal. Our menu was usually always very traditional but plain.  No decor but lots of food and good chats.I used to think how long it took to make this meal and how quick they all ate it because the men didn't want  to miss the football game. Now I eat special occasions with my son and family who live on the street in back of me.The two  girls now are living in other states and loss of loved ones our table has gotten smaller. My grandson will be home from collage .  I am thank ful for them all.

What a sweet table! I have used that same china for my Thanksgiving table for about the past 25 years or so - my parents collected it for me piece by piece. Wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving....

I have these same dishes but just enough for 2 place settings! I bought them at a church flea market with the intention of using them with my red transferware dishes for holiday tables. Then a few months ago, I was lucky enough to find the tea pot that matches at a yard sale for $2.00!!

I love the fact that you have them in a Thanksgiving tablescape. I can't wait to "do something" with mine!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Hi. I just love your plates. The scenes on them are wonderful. I love things like that. I have a set of blue transferware from Currier and Ives and another from a different US manufacturer but I don't know who they were.
