Since I live so near the river I am partial to nautical tablescapes to give the feel of the great St Laurence River. It draws people who have moved away back again and again. Many of the Island mansions are many generation families. My home goes back to the early 1800's . the celler is supported by log beams. It is called barn framed fitted with wooden pegs. It started out as one story with loft. It now has 10 small rooms and 2 baths as the family grew. I started out with the white cut work dinner plate for contrast with white flat ware. The shells were also thrift shop find.I got a whole box marked pier one for 2.00. |

We see many sail boats. We have benches along the river front so we can sit and watch the many boats big and small and enjoy the gentle breeze on a hot humid night. |
Place mat that started it all |
How about a beer bottle candle holder. I don't drink but found it out in front of my house where someone threw it.lol |

I always love beach tables and yours makes me yearn for our yearly trip to Cape Cod. The beer bottle was a lucky find in that beautiful blue! I think the crooked menu is perfect as it makes me feel like I'm on board one of those sailboats. And the lighthouse looks like it has a key--maybe it turns or has a music box inside? Have a wonderful weekend. It is supposed to rain here but the sun is shining so far. Linda
what a fun table! I love it! I live on the shores of one of the Great Lakes so, I always love a lighthouse tablescape! Thank you for sharing with us at TTF. Have a great day!

Oh dear, you have done it again!
I just love your nautical tablescape.
How great to find those place mats and napkin rings at a Garage Sale! I love your idea of coiling the rope on cardboard for coasters, Genius!!
I also love those pretty lacy white plates!!

Hi, Vernice!!!!!! I have been out and about all week trying to play catch up, and out all day today at an awards event honoring my Mom. It is so great to finally get home, put on my jammies, relax with a glass of wine and look at your fun tablescape!!! First off...you MADE those coasters and the candle holder?!??!?!! SO creative!!! You have such patience for putting things together!!! I can't get over how professional that candle holder looks! You could make and sell those bad boys!!! SUPER cute place setting! You had great inspiration in the beuaty that exists right there nearby. I don't get it...we have that big ol' river that runs through Missouri, but it looks nothing like and has no acitivty like the one in your town! It's more of a wet junk yard/graveyard for murdered people! :-( No cool leisure boats on it, no people enjoying it. It's basically just a dump and a way to get cargo vessels up and down. What a waste! The photo you show depicts a much more joyous situation!!! I think this is one of my favorite posts of yours with the fun menu board, the handmade coasters & candle holder, and the other decorative items you used. Everything just goes together so nicely, AND it pays homage to your town. Perfect! I hope you have a great night and that your week is going well!
This is really really pretty. I love the white dishes, the placemats, the lighthouse... all of it. You are very creative and clever. xo marlis
